** Award Winner - 2nd Place Traditional Machine Quilted AND Best Machine Applique AND Viewer's Choice ** Spare Change is a modern twist on the traditional Chinese Coins pattern with the roles of the cables and coins reverssed. I designed it for RaNae Merrill's upcoming book about sidweays spirals. The piecing technique used was published in the Modern Quilt Guild September 2014 Pattern of the Month - "Chess on the Steps", by Krista Hennebury. The improvisatinal back was made from spare strips from the front. Pieced, appliqued and quilted by machine. |
